Hinsdale Woman Accused Of Stealing Gun

HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale woman is accused of stealing a gun from a neighbor's house three years ago, Hinsdale police said.

Debra Kaleta-Nigri, 60, who lives in the 800 block of West North Street, was charged Monday with felony possession of a stolen firearm, police said. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail, where she remained Wednesday afternoon, according to jail records.

On Friday, Kaleta-Nigri was evicted from her house. In handling the matter, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office recovered the stolen gun, police said.

On Wednesday, Kaleta-Nigri's landlord and others were seen in front of the house collecting her belongings, which were put in the side yard during the eviction. Many of the items were being thrown in the dumpster.

On Monday afternoon, Kaleta-Nigri stole a bottle of alcohol from Walgreens, 15 Grant Square, police said. She was charged with retail theft and resisting or obstructing officers.
