Police are searching for a tractor-trailer driver who struck and killed a woman crossing a Brooklyn street early Friday, then fled the scene, according to the NYPD.
Department officials said the woman was walking across Eastern Parkway and Schenectady Avenue in Crown Heights around 5:20 a.m. when the driver of the 18-wheeler hit her while traveling eastbound. The driver kept going after the crash, police said.
Emergency medical workers pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She was not immediately identified pending notification of her family.
Police were reviewing surveillance video to figure out the truck’s make, model and license plate, officials said.
