CONCORD, NH — A teen driver reportedly crashed into a Concord police cruiser inside the Salisbury Green apartment complex on
Just before 6:30 p.m., an officer in the Salisbury Green apartment complex radioed dispatch to report they were attempting to pull over a silver car without a license plate. The driver was in the back of the complex and then took off on the officer. The officer said they were traveling around 20 mph and the roadway was clear.
When the driver and the officer got to the end of the road, the driver turned around and started back into the complex, the officer said. The officer said the driver turned around again and headed for the exit of the complex.
"He's going about 50 in the parking lot here," the officer said.
The watch commander asked about the charge against the driver and the officer said there was no plate on the car.
"Shut it down," the watch commander said.
Other officers went to the complex and about a minute later, the driver crashed into a police cruiser, according to radio traffic.
An officer ran a check on the driver, a 17-year-old from Weare, and found that he had no outstanding warrants and no local contacts with the police, according to dispatch. A girl, 16, from Chichester was a passenger in the car, according to scanner chatter. Neither was injured. The car was a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze.
The driver was charged with reckless operation, disobeying an officer, unregistered vehicle, and unlawful possession charges.
A tow truck was requested to remove the car.
