HIGHLAND PARK, IL — A man suspected of stealing an Xbox controller from Target and threatening an employee was arrested Friday in Highland Park, according to police.
On Halloween, Highland Park police received a report of a theft at the Target located at 2099 Skokie Valley Road at approximately 12:15 p.m. According to target staff, a man attempted to steal an Xbox controller, valued at approximately $153.99.
When confronted by a store employee, the man reportedly threatened to "blow his head off," authorities told Patch.
When officers arrived, they placed the suspect, who was identified as 25-year-old Jose Luis Bodon of Rosemont, under arrest. While further investigating the incident, police discovered Bodon had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.
The Lake County Assistant State's Attorney reviewed the case and approved charges of retail theft, disorderly conduct and obstructing identification for the threat made to the employee and providing an incorrect birth year during the booking process.
No injuries were reported in connection to the incident.
