NYPD says 2 men killed in shootings in Manhattan and Bronx, no arrests yet

Police are looking for suspects in two separate fatal shootings that happened in Manhattan and the Bronx on Sunday, according to NYPD officials.

Officials said 39-year-old Gibson Winters was shot in his back and groin around 4:15 a.m. near the intersection of West 46th Street and 12th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen. First responders took him to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said they are investigating why Winters was shot, and don’t yet have a description of a possible assailant. Winters lived in Crown Heights, the NYPD said.

Later Sunday, around 8 p.m., police responded to a shooting outside a residential building on West 174th Street near Undercliff Avenue in Morris Heights. Officers found 24-year-old Randy Blanche unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds to his head, officials said.

First responders took Blanche to BronxCare Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said he lived in Tremont.

Officials said the assailant was wearing a black and orange coat and may have fled into a nearby building on Popham Avenue.

Police had not made any arrests in either homicide by Monday morning.
