NYPD officials said Tuesday evening they’re closely monitoring a shooting in Washington, D.C., that left two National Guard members injured just blocks from the White House, though there are no known threats to New York City.
The troops were deployed from West Virginia, authorities said. One was
New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch addressed the incident, which she said appeared to be targeted, on Wednesday evening during a press conference about security for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The NYPD is praying for the members of the National Guard who were shot earlier today in Washington, D.C.
