JOLIET, IL — For the fourth time since 2021, 56-year-old Nicholson Street resident Curtis Williams is back in the Will County Jail. This time, Joliet police say Williams used a knife to threaten a woman at their apartment unit in the 100 block of Nicholson.

Williams is charged with aggravated unlawful restraint, domestic battery, aggravated assault and interfering with someone reporting domestic violence.

Thursday's incident happened in the middle of the night, around 2:40 a.m.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, officers responded to the apartment on Nicholson for an altercation involving roommates. At the scene, officers found Williams inside a vehicle near his apartment house.

English said Williams allegedly threatened his female roommate with a kitchen knife while inside the residence, refusing to let her leave or move freely.

Williams also physically attacked the woman, who eventually escaped during the struggle and called 911 after Williams ran from their apartment, his arrest report noted.

Williams was placed into custody without incident, the police said.
