Newly released aerial video shows Las Vegas authorities using a new tool known as a "Grappler" to disable a car driven by a suspected carjacker during a police chase last month.
The incident occurred Aug. 18 after the suspect allegedly carjacked his ex-girlfriend by pushing her out of her vehicle, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
As they responded to the scene, police learned that an active warrant had previously been issued for the suspect, Vincent Farmer, on suspicion of attempted murder.
Authorities located the fleeing vehicle on U.S. Route 95 and "as you'll see in the video, the tool allowed our officers to bring this dangerous situation to a successful and peaceful resolution," the Police Department said in a statement.
