ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — Following an investigation that last nearly a year, three people have been arrested for their involvement in a shooting that wounded a man in the 500 block of Dogwood Trail. Elk Grove Village police said the following three suspects have been charged in the Nov. 10, 2024 incident:
The Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved the charges.
At 4:15 a.m. on the date of the incident, Elk Grove police responded to a report of a person shot outside a home. Upon arrival, they found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the head in the 1200 block of Aspen Lane. Officers rendered first aid until the Elk Grove Village Fire Department arrived and took him to Lutheran General Hospital. Police said Monday the victim has since recovered.
During an investigation which Elk Grove police called "complex," detectives were able to interview witnesses and obtain numerous court-approved warrants for social media records, cell phone data, vehicle telemetric data, DNA from suspects and evidence recovered from the scene. Police said one handgun involved in the incident was recovered.
Elk Grove police said the department received assistance from the Northeastern Illinois Regional Crime Laboratory.
"We also commend the dedication and diligence of our staff in helping bring closure to the victims and the community," Deputy Chief Scott Eisenmenger said. "Safety within Elk Grove Village continues to be the result of a strong collaboration between our residents, law enforcement, and our regional partners."
