Woman injured, man fatally shot while sitting inside tow truck in Northeast Philadelphia

Police say two gunmen opened fire on a tow truck in Northeast Philadelphia, killing one man and injuring a woman.

It happened at 8 p.m. on Sunday on the 2100 block of Knorr Street near Bustleton Avenue.

Police say a 25-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were sitting inside a tow truck when two suspects pulled up next to them in a silver or gray Honda and opened fire.

Video shows the tow truck riddled with bullets.

The woman was rushed to Einstein Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. There's no word on her condition.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say some bullets also hit a nearby second-floor window.

"Inside that floor is an Asian senior center, and there were multiple people inside when those bullets came through those windows, " said Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace. "Fortunately, no one on that floor was injured."

There's no word yet on a motive, and no arrests have been made.

It's unclear if the shooting was related to the tow truck business.

Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to call Philadelphia police.
