Woman hit by stray bullet while stepping off MTA bus in East Flatbush, Brooklyn

A 62-year-old woman was wounded by a stray bullet when she stepped off an MTA bus in Brooklyn.

She was exiting the vehicle in front of a fruit and vegetable store on Utica Avenue in East Flatbush on Friday just after 7 p.m. when she was struck in the right ankle.

There is no information on where the bullet came from or who might have been the intended target.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
