Three people have been detained for their alleged role in a fight that apparently led to a shot being fired in the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, New Jersey, on Tuesday night.
It happened near the food court area of the mall just after 7 p.m.
No one was injured, but the incident did make for some chaotic moments and forced authorities to evacuate the mall.
Two adults and one juvenile were taken into custody for their alleged role in a fight before the gunfire erupted, but the person who fired the shot is still being sought, an official said.

State Troopers and police from more than a dozen nearby towns descended on the mall, blocked the parking lot entrances, refused to let people in and urged everyone to get out.
Teens described panic and confusion as they ran from the mall after hearing what sounded like two gunshots.
"I heard a bunch of footsteps and I was just getting pushed by a bunch of people as I was running," Shane Garvey said.
The mall reopened on schedule at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Wayne police are still investigating and ask that anyone who may have seen the incident or recorded it to contact them.
