Police are investigating a shooting that injured three people at a shopping mall in Northern California on the evening of Black Friday.
San Jose police said the three victims were located around 5:40 p.m. inside the Westfield Valley Fair Mall in Santa Clara, just west of downtown San Jose, and were transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
Police said all three victims -- one adult male, one adult female and one 16-year-old girl -- have non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting appears to be an isolated incident and was not an active shooter situation, according to police.
Law enforcement sources tell ABC News that an argument broke out between two people outside of Macy's on the second floor, and shots were fired. Investigators believe the shooter was at the mall with several women who had strollers, and they all took off after the shooting.
At last check, the suspect was still outstanding.
"We can say, for a matter of fact, that this was not unsuspected shoppers that were targeted. This was an isolated incident with two individuals, and unfortunately, two others were injured. And this shouldn't stop people from enjoying their holiday," says Sgt. Jorge Garibay, with the San Jose Police Department.
Video from our sister station in San Francisco shows crowds of Black Friday shoppers evacuating the mall. It appeared a bullet went through a store window, leaving glass all over the ground.
Cellphone video from inside shows a chaotic scene as shoppers scrambled, trying to get out of the mall.
Another video shows shoppers evacuating a store with their hands up as they walk down escalators and in a single file line out of the store, listening ot the orders of officers trying to clear one of the Bay Area's largest shopping centers.
Police say they're now reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses, hoping to identify the shooter and the group he was with before he ran. San Jose police are asking anyone with information or video to come forward.
The Westfield Valley Fair Mall is partially located in San Jose and partly in Santa Clara.
