West Chatham, Chicago shooting today: 3 people shot inside moving car in 8100-block of South Stewart Avenue, police say

Three people were shot inside a moving car on Chicago's South Side early Saturday, police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the West Chatham neighborhood's 8100-block of South Stewart Avenue just before 12:30 a.m.

Two women, 21 and 26, and a 25-year-old man were inside the vehicle when someone fired shots, police said.

The 21-year-old was hit by a fragment in the back of the head.

The 25-year-old was shot in the arm and hand.

The 26-year-old suffered a graze wound to the stomach and arm.

The victims took themselves to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they are all listed in fair condition.

Police said the suspected shooter fled the scene.

There is no one in custody, and Area Two detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
