
Stockton Mayor Christina Fugazi spoke out against violence in her community in a late-night press conference, following a shooting at a family gathering that killed four people and wounded 10 others. She noted that Thanksgiving weekend is “when families come together to celebrate, share memories, give each other love." Watch the full press conference in the video above. "And unfortunately tonight heaven is a little bigger with the individuals, children and adults, that unfortunately did not make it," she said. "Stockton is better than this.”Fugazi referenced a 2015 drive-by shooting outside Madison Market that killed three people and wounded four others as "unacceptable.""And again, tonight, unacceptable," she said. Fugazi said that “families should be together instead of at the hospital standing next to their loved one, praying that they survived.” She urged anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600.San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas also spoke at the press conference. “A tragedy of this nature is unthinkable and it absolutely breaks our heart to have the loss of life and to have the loss of life to children in our community,” he said. He called for the person responsible for the shooting to turn themselves in.
