Washington Park, Chicago shooting: Xavier Tousant charged in shooting, killing woman in 5400-block of Prairie Avenue, police says

A man has been charged in the shooting death of a woman on the South Side, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened on June 27 around 9:40 p.m. in the 5400-block of South Prairie Avenue, police said.

Responding officers found a 20-year-old woman unresponsive. Police said she was shot in the head and died at the scene.

On Monday, August 25, police arrested Xavier Tousant, 22 of Chicago.

He was arrested in the 2600-block of S. California Boulevard, police said.

He was charged with one charge of first-degree murder.

Tousant was due in court on Wednesday.
