UC Davis professor shares insight on changing political landscape, violence
The killing of Charlie Kirk on Wednesday has sparked further conversation surrounding political violence.UC Davis Political Science Professor Lauren E. Young joined KCRA 3 on Friday. She has been studying political violence outside of the U.S. her whole career, and says rhetoric from politicians and influencers can change the perception of how socially acceptable violence is. "Many people who participate in violence are doing it because they think they're protecting their community, they think they're doing something altruistic," Young said.
