Tracy father of nine dies after road rage incident in Alameda County

A father of nine from Tracy died after an alleged road rage incident escalated into a fight near the Castro Valley BART station in Alameda County on Saturday night, according to reports from KTVU.Jason Elola’s wife told KTVU they were in the car with two of their daughters when another driver rammed into their vehicle near an Interstate 580 off-ramp in Castro Valley near Wilbeam and Norbridge avenues. She said Elola then got out of the car to speak with the other driver.Investigators said a fight then broke out between Jason Elola and 37-year-old Martin Davis Jr., the other driver. Davis Jr. initially left the scene but returned at the request of the California Highway Patrol. He was arrested on suspicion of murder.Elola was a father of nine and a grandfather to four, with his youngest daughter being only five months old. His family described him as a dedicated father who ran a pumpkin patch, a Christmas tree lot, and a food truck lot."The only thing that is clear is that my husband was protecting us, and that we were scared, and that this person, he didn't have to take my husband," Elola's wife, Gabrielle, said."He was not a shy person when it came to us. He wanted everyone to know that he was a proud dad, that he had a big family and that he was a family man," his daughter, Liana Elola, said.The family said they hope their loss serves as a reminder for everyone to remain calm on the road and is urging witnesses to come forward.
