Three Philadelphia police officers injured during vehicle stop

Three Philadelphia police officers were hurt during a traffic stop in Kensington early Thursday morning.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. at Kensington and Allegheny Avenues.

Authorities say officers attempted to pull over a driver for code violations when the situation escalated.

Instead of stopping, the driver sped off with one officer's arm still inside the vehicle.

Police quickly pursued and stopped the car nearby.

During the struggle, one officer suffered cuts from a shattered window, another was injured in a fall, and the officer dragged by the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Two officers declined medical treatment and one was taken to a hospital.

The driver was taken into custody.

This is an on-going investigation.
