Teen boy killed in Archer Heights, Chicago shooting at Burger King in 4000-block of South Pulaski Road: police department

A drive-by shooter killed a teenage boy inside a Southwest Side Burger King on Sunday evening, Chicago police said.

Police said a Jeep SUV pulled up to the restaurant in the Archer Heights neighborhood's 4000-block of South Pulaski Road just after 7 p.m.

Someone inside the SUV fired shots, striking a 17-year-old boy, who was inside the restaurant, police said.

Police said the victim, shot in the head, was taken in critical condition to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The SUV's driver fled the scene in an unknown direction.

No one is in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
