Philadelphia Police say a suspected package thief got into a shootout with a homeowner and later fired at officers in the city's Feltonville section.
Officers heard gunshots coming from the 400 block of East Rockland Street around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
They rushed to the scene and found a man firing a gun.
Police say the man then fired toward the officers.
A nearby homeowner told police he saw the suspect stealing packages.
When the homeowner confronted the suspect, the two opened fire against each other.
The suspect ran away, but police did recover a gun from the scene.
There were no injuries reported.
No arrests have been made.
The incident remains under investigation.
