A suspect is in custody after a man was shot and seriously injured at his Northwest Side home on Friday night, Chicago police said.
Police said officers responded to a call about a shooting in the Hermosa neighborhood's 4300-block of West North Avenue around 10:30 p.m.
A 38-year-old man was fighting with a female offender, whose age was not immediately known, when she took out a gun and fired a shot, police said.
Police said the Chicago Fire Department treated the man, who suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder, on the scene before taking him to Stroger Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.
The suspect remained on the scene, and officers took her into custody.
Charges are pending, and Area Five detectives are investigating, police said.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
