Suffolk County Police investigate Wyandanch backyard shooting; 20-year-old critically injured

Police are investigating a shooting that critically injured a 20-year-old man in Suffolk County Wednesday night.

According to Suffolk County Police, the victim was shot in the backyard of a home on Patton Avenue in Wyandanch around 8:26 p.m.

After being shot, the victim drove himself to a Shell gas station in West Babylon, where someone called 911.

Police have confirmed the shooting did not occur at the gas station.

The victim, who is from Westbury, was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Investigators have not released details regarding why the victim was in the backyard of the Wyandanch home.

No arrests have been made.
