Stockton police make arrest in deadly shooting almost a year later

Officers arrested a man almost a year after he allegedly shot and killed another man, the Stockton Police Department said Tuesday.Carlos Romero, 27, is in the San Joaquin County Jail on homicide and narcotics-related charges, the police department said.The shooting happened around 6 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2024, in the 300 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The police department said officers who went there found an 18-year-old man who had multiple gunshot wounds.First responders took the man to a hospital, the police department said. He was listed in critical condition and died eight days later.The police department said it continued investigating the shooting until it led officers to arrest Romero on Tuesday. He was in Stockton when officers took him into custody.See news happening?
