Stevenson Expressway, Chicago traffic: Part of I55 closed as Illinois State Police investigate possible shooting near State Street

Road closures are in place on Chicago's South Side as Illinois State Police investigate reports of shots fired on Saturday morning.

Troopers responded to a report of a shooting in the southbound lanes of the Stevenson Expressway near State Street around 6 a.m.

ISP said there were no reports of injuries at the scene, but closures on Interstate 55 are still in effect as of noon Saturday.

Closures are in place at DuSable Lake Shore Drive to I-55 southbound, the Chinatown feeder ramp to I-55 southbound and Interstate 94 to I-55.

ISP did not immediately say when the closures might be lifted.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
