BANNING, CA — A fatal shooting incident took place in mid-April at the Banning Jack's Market. Outside, the body of one man lay covered with a tarp. Inside, emergency responders worked to save a second victim
This is one of seven shootings that has occurred in Banning over the past month, according to official reports from police. The majority did not have fatal consequences.
On Thursday afternoon, they shared locations, dates and times of the shootings with residents, many concerned about the dangerous conditions.
"The Banning Police Department Detective Bureau is currently investigating several recent shootings, including a homicide in the 100 block of N. 8th Street," they stated in a news release.

Police mapped out the shooting locations across the city and shared them with the public through social media outreach.
At Jack's Market, on April 15, witnesses of the shooting who wished to remain anonymous said "an argument started within a group of young individuals when shots were heard." One witness stated they "saw a car speeding away after the shooting," and that the "suspects wore ski masks." Those accounts have yet to be verified by police.
