Shots fired near JFK Airport during apparent road rage incident, traffic delays due to investigation

Port Authority police were investigating an apparent road rage incident on the Van Wyck Expressway near JFK Airport on Tuesday morning.

There were apparently shots fired at a vehicle near Exit 8.

An off-duty customs officer was being interviewed in connection with the shots fired.

The Van Wyck Expressway going into the airport was closed as a result of the investigation.

Travelers were urged to check on their flight status.
