Shooting at residential day care in Granada Hills leaves 2 adults hospitalized, LAFD says

Two adults were taken to a hospital Tuesday afternoon after a shooting at a residential day care in Granada Hills, officials said. No children were injured.

The shooting was reported shortly after 12:35 p.m. near the intersection of Balboa Boulevard and Vanowen Street.

The suspect fled the scene and was taken into custody by Los Angeles Police Department on a nearby street.

Video from the scene showed paramedics placing the two women, who were on gurneys, into ambulances before taking them to a hospital. The victims were conscious and did not appear to be critically injured.

The circumstances that led to the shooting were not immediately known.
