JOLIET, IL — There will be no pretrial release for Kaitlyn Aimaro, the 33-year-old former Streator resident, who is accused of committing her fourth DUI crime. Joliet police responded last weekend's crash in Joliet and found her two young children inside the vehicle, according to court files.

Prosecutors have charged the current Crest Hill resident with two counts of aggravated DUI and two counts of endangering the life or health of a child.

According to the pretrial detention filing, around 9:05 p.m. on Aug. 22, Joliet police were called to a crash involving a vehicle flipped upside down on its roof along Draper Avenue. Joliet police found three people inside the car, including Aimaro and her two daughters, ages 6 and 7.

Joliet police noted Aimaro "had bloodshot glassy eyes and was very uncooperative with officers as well as medical staff and would not answer basic questions."

According to prosecutors, Aimaro had a prior arrest on Nov. 13, 2021, for endangering the life and health of a child. She is also currently serving out her sentence for aggravated DUI.

According to her criminal complaint, Aimaro has three prior DUIs from 2013 in Henry County, 2022 in Will County and 2021 in Kane County "and said violation being a fourth violation."

Will County Judge Chrystel Gavlin ruled that Aimaro would not be released under the SAFE-T-Act.
