Mayor Matt Mahan confirmed city employee Max Ryan was one of the victims. He worked for the city's housing department.

Another victim has been identified as 26-year-old Tarrah Lynn Taylor and the third has yet to be identified.

"It's heartbreaking. I've been thinking a lot about the victims and their loved ones," Mayor Mahan said on Wednesday. "It was it's been shared with the council, just in the last hour, one of the victims actually a member of our city team, an employee in the housing department. We've been really focused on supporting members of our team at the city."

SJPD arrested a 27-year-old man from San Jose on Wednesday after a search for the suspect.

Police confirm the suspect had a prior arrest in 2019 for a shooting on San Fernando St., likely a shooting at San Jose State's MLK Library where no one was hurt.

Tuesday's deadly shooting was reported just before 12:30 a.m. when SJPD received calls about gun shots and and a woman screaming for help on the 200 block of Chynoweth Ave.

One man and two women were found shot. One woman died at the scene.
