Renee Good: Outrage over ICE deadly shooting in Minnesota sparks protests across Bay Area

San Francisco was one of hundreds of cities that took part in today's "ICE Out for Good" protests on Saturday.

From the Bay Area to Boston, anti-ICE protests took place across the country in the wake of the deadly shooting in Minneapolis.

Outrage continued Saturday after an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Good on Wednesday.

Ellen Simms, Berkeley Resident: "We were out on Wednesday night immediately after hearing about Renee Good's shooting, Keith Porter's shooting. All of these deaths, it's just unconscionable," said Ellen Simms from Berkeley.

In Good's case, the Department of Homeland Security said she drove toward the agent and that he fired in self-defense.

In San Francisco, Van Ness Avenue got loud.

"We have many issues. But the immediate one right now is these horrible shootings by ICE. It's so tragic. And I just feel like we now have a secret police," said Tom Colton from Berkeley.

At Ocean Beach, protestors formed a human banner on Ocean Beach, spelling out the words, "IT WAS MURDER, ICE OUT!!"

"We're not putting up with it. It's time for the feds to back off. We don't want ICE anymore. We don't want any more murders," said event organizer Travis Vanbrasch.

Saturday's protests come on the heels of a protest on Friday outside a San Francisco ICE office, where advocates say two people were pepper-sprayed and two others detained.

Both who were detained have been released, one of them standing by, choosing not to speak or be named.

"They were held for several hours, and in order to make sure that they were safe and wouldn't leave until we knew what was going to happen to them," said Jaime Reyes from Dare to Struggle.

Meanwhile, protests continued across the Bay from Redwood City to Contra Costa County, Sonoma and San Jose.

"It's frightening to think that we could be put in danger by the people who would be trusted to protect us," said Laura Evetushnet,

"We need to bring them to justice. We demand that this person is put on trial and that ICE is out of our streets," said Ramsey Robinson.
