Reckless Driver Hides In Women's Bathroom At Burger King On Route 59: Shorewood Police

SHOREWOOD, IL — A recent reckless driving crime in Shorewood resulted in the capture of a Bolingbrook man who ran from his vehicle and hid from the Shorewood police inside the women's bathroom at the Burger King restaurant on Route 59 and Jefferson Street, the arrest report showed.

According to the arrest logs, Shorewood police made the arrest of 29-year-old Bolingbrook citizen Juan Bello-Rivera on charges of reckless driving, failure to dim lights, driving in the wrong lane, disobeying traffic controls, resisting arrest, aggravated attempted to elude a police officer, improper lane usage, improper turn at an intersection and other traffic-related offenses.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Route 59 and Black Road on Sept. 23 when Bello-Rivera was driving without a seat belt, the police report showed. His vehicle began to slow and abruptly turned westbound onto Ridge Drive, and when the vehicle turned, the officer observed the high-beam lights were activated as the motorist traveled at a high rate of speed.

The pursuing officer activated the emergency lights and squad siren and Bello-Rivera slowed speed on Route 59 approaching Route 52 made a right turn westbound Route 52. Police said that Bello-Rivera drove quickly through Casa Maya's parking lot and drove recklessly and turned northbound Route 59 from Route52 and turned into the Burger King parking lot.

From there, Bello-Rivera ran into the women's bathroom where Bello-Rivera was taken into custody around 8:45 p.m., the arrest report showed. Bello-Rivera comes from the 200 block of Bolingbrook's Pueblo Drive.
