Rakim Bradford charged: 2 teens shot, homeowner charged after alleged porch piracy in Atlanta, Georgia

An Atlanta man is facing charges after allegedly shooting two teenagers who he says tried to steal a package from his porch.

Rakim Bradford is facing two counts of aggravated assault and is accused of shooting a 15- and 16-year-old.

"Our investigation is determined that we believe a property crime was occurring, that some packages were being taken off of a front porch, which is uncommon this time of year, and the homeowner did discharge his weapon to stop that," Atlanta police Chief Darin Schierbaum said.

Both teens were expected to survive, however Bradford is now facing two counts of aggravated assault.

"In this particular case, this is not a reasonable use of force, because in Georgia, although you are allowed to protect your property, you are not allowed to use deadly force unless there is either someone breaking into your home or there's a forcible felony that's about to be committed," ABC News Legal Contributor Channa Lloyd said.
