Police shoot man with knife in Astoria, NYPD says
Police shot a man with a knife on a Queens street early Monday, according to NYPD officials.
The shooting happened just before 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of 30th Avenue and 31st Street in Astoria, officials said.
The man was taken to a local hospital. Police did not immediately share his condition.
The NYPD advised people to avoid the area. Detectives and officers were investigating the scene around 8:30 a.m. Monday.
