Pedestrian critically hurt after driver allegedly runs red light, strikes teen in North Philadelphia, police say

A 19-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near Temple University's campus in North Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Police say a driver ran a red light at Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue.

It happened just before 9 p.m.

The 19-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police say the driver did remain on the scene.
