Patrick Gleason was found guilty, convicted for murder of beloved Izzy's bartender Danny Rios in Joliet, Illinois

A man was convicted for shooting and killing a beloved suburban bartender in 2018.

The shooting happened in March 2018 at at Izzy's Bar in southwest suburban Joliet.

Daniel Rios, 52, was shot and killed. He was a bartender at Izzy's Bar and longtime family friend of the owner, Alfonso Izquierdo.

Thomas Izquierdo is the son of the owner, he was shot in the abdomen.

Patrick Gleason of Crest Hill was arrested and charged with multiple counts, including first-degree murder and aggravated battery.

Nearly seven years after the deadly shooting, Patrick Gleason was convicted on all counts, according to the Will County State's Attorney's Office.

In March 2020, Gleason filed a federal suit against Joliet police claiming he was being framed for the crime. That lawsuit was quickly dismissed.
