An Omaha shooting at North 24th and Binney streets early Sunday morning left one person dead and four others hurt early Sunday morning.Police are still talking to potential witnesses Monday. A department spokesperson says people were gathered at a building Sunday, which is used as an after-hours club for all ages."There looked to be about 30 to 50 people," said OPD Lt. Queno Martinez.Police say they were called to the area of North 24th and Binney streets at 3 a.m. Sunday when ShotSpotter detected 14 rounds. Officers on the scene minutes later found two victims with gunshots, rendered aid, and noticed a large crowd starting to form. This required police to expand their crime scene."It seems to be an isolated incident at this venue. It may have been an after-hours club," Martinez said.Four people were washing off the aftermath outside the venue in the daylight Monday. The group would not tell KETV NewsWatch 7 who they were or why they were cleaning up. But one person said this shooting was out of self-defense and declined to say anything more.OPD identified the deceased victim as 37-year-old Brandon Jones.Thirty-two-year-old Cameron Brown, 48-year-old Derrick Bothwell, 55-year-old Robert Johnson, and 57-year-old Phillip Gaines are expected to be OK.The building owner said they were unfamiliar with the details of the shooting. If you have any information, call Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP.
