Omaha police identify the officers involved in a shooting that injured one person. The incident happened just before 2 a.m. Thursday in the area of 152nd and Spencer streets.INITIAL COVERAGE: Police chief comments on burglary in northwest OmahaPolice were called to the area for a report of a burglary, and after officers arrived, there were shots fired. According to OPD, Dean Weis used the gun to break the glass to the back door in order to gain entry to the residence.OPD said when Weis exited the home through the front door, he was holding a gun, which he used to fire at officers. Two officers, Jamelle Ross and Andrew Wulf fired back, striking Weis.According to a news release from OPD, both Ross and Wulf were interviewed about the incident, and body-worn cameras, cruiser dash cameras, and the department's helicopter camera captured the incident, which OPD said corroborated what the officers said.PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Omaha police identify man shot by officers during a burglary callRoss has been with the force for nine years, and Wulf has five years of service.
