Omaha police cite Terence 'Bud' Crawford with reckless driving; Chief orders review of traffic stop

Omaha police confirmed that Terence “Bud” Crawford was pulled over and cited for reckless driving early Sunday morning.Omaha celebrated Crawford's boxing championship with a parade on Saturday.A police statement said officers noticed a car driving recklessly at about 1:30 a.m. near 12th Street and Capitol Ave. in downtown Omaha. While speaking with the driver, later identified as Crawford, a statement said an officer noticed a gun on the driver’s side floorboard, then ordered all occupants out at gunpoint.A member of Crawford’s security team also had a firearm, police said. Officers confirmed all four people in the car are legally permitted to carry firearms.Omaha Mayor John Ewing Jr. requested an internal affairs investigation, he told KETV. Police Chief Todd Schmaderer authorized the internal affairs investigation, police said.
