An Omaha jury returned a guilty verdict for the two defendants accused of killing a teenager.Latrail Washington and Kash Davis were tried together, and that trial lasted a little over a week. They were convicted in the death of Synthia Elliott, who was just 15 years old when she was shot sleeping at home.Previous coverage: Fate of 2 men accused of murder is now in hands of Omaha juryWashington and Davis were found guilty of first-degree murder charges and use of a firearm to commit a felony. Washington was also found guilty of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person. The jury deliberated the case for about four hours.Elliott was shot and killed Nov. 30, 2022.Prosecutors said the men shot about 20 or more times at the house near 37th and Pinkney streets, striking Elliott in the head and killing her.Washington and Davis each face a life in prison sentence.The other two defendants, Selassie Spencer and Jarrious Hill, previously pleaded no contest to second-degree murder.Hill was sentenced to 50 to 60 years for second-degree murder and 25 to 30 years for use of a weapon to commit a felony.Spencer was sentenced to 75 to 90 years in prison for the same charges.NAVIGATE: Home | Weather | Local News | National | Sports | Newscasts on demand |
