NYPD sergeant shot in the Bronx, rushed to the hospital; person of interest in custody, police say
An NYPD officer was rushed to hospital after being shot in the Bronx on Thursday, according to officials.
Police say an NYPD sergeant from the 49th Precinct was shot at 1015 E. Gun Hill Rd. shortly after 10:20 p.m.
He was taken to Jacobi Hospital.
There's not word yet on his condition.
A person of interest has been taken into custody.
