Northwest High student displays knife in hallway; Staff injured

Omaha Public Schools said a student displayed a knife inside Northwest High School on Wednesday. KETV Newswatch 7 obtained a letter sent to staff and families regarding the incident. Northwest's principal, Kimberly Jackson, wrote that a staff member was injured. "Staff worked quickly to confiscate the item. Our staff member received immediate care from our school nurse. Additional officers arrived to assist," Jackson wrote. KETV asked the district spokesperson to confirm how the staff member was injured, but the district responded, saying it is limited in what it can share. The letter says that the school will take appropriate disciplinary action regarding the student involved. You can read the full letter below:
