Los Angeles Police Department investigators joined relatives and friends of a homicide victim Thursday to seek the public's help - - and highlight a $50,000 reward -- for information in the 2023 fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man with special needs in Boyle Heights.
Officers responded to the 3400 block of Emery Street, near Washington Boulevard and Grande Vista Avenue, around 4:30 a.m. June 13, 2023, regarding a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police. Noah Martinez, described as a high-functioning autistic man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators found shell casings at the location but no witnesses, police said.
There is a $50,000 reward being offered for information leading to the identity, arrest and prosecution of the person or people responsible.
"This reward has been on the table since 2024," LAPD Lt. Ryan Rabbett said during a news conference at the department's Hollenbeck Station. "We do look to the community to come forward, someone to come forward and give our investigators at Central Bureau homicide some information that would lead to the identity to the person or persons responsible for this crime."
Members of Martinez's family also attended the news conference asking for anyone with information to contact police.
"Whatever you saw that early morning, please come forward and share what you have," Noah's father, Jonathan Martinez, said.
Anyone with information was urged to call the LAPD's Central Bureau Homicide Division at (213) 996-4104. Calls during non-business hours or weekends should be directed to 877-527-3247. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org .
