Newly released bodycam footage shows the moment police shot and killed a man armed with a handgun in Hyde Park last month.
The deadly shooting happened on Thursday, July 10, when officers driving on Crenshaw Boulevard near Hyde Park Boulevard saw two men in a fight.
Los Angeles police say they saw the suspect -- later identified as 63-year-old James Tullous -- get out of a parked vehicle with a handgun. Police say Tullous then got into a physical altercation with a man, and as officers exited their vehicle, Tullous fired one round, according to LAPD.
Two officers then fired at Tullos, who was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators later learned the fight between the men began as a verbal altercation.
Police say the officers and the other man involved in the fight were not injured.
