Missing Palmdale baby: Yusuf Dewees, father accused of murdering newborn son Baki Dewees, set to be arraigned
A man accused of murdering his 3-week-old son is set to be arraigned Tuesday.
Yusuf Dewees , 24, was arrested in June 2024 in connection with the death of his son Baki Dewees.
Baki was reported missing in the Palmdale area by his grandmother in early May 2024.
Dewees' preliminary hearing in October was postponed after he got into a fight while in line in county jail. He claimed to be suicidal, Eyewitness News learned.
Investigators searched for Baki's remains in an Antelope Valley landfill last year but ended up calling off the search.
The baby's body has still not been recovered.
Baki's mother was already in jail on unrelated charges prior to the baby's disappearance and thus is not considered a suspect in the case.
