Minneapolis shooting today: Federal agent reportedly involved in shooting in Minneapolis, Gov. Tim Walz says

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said in a statement that there was a shooting Saturday in Minneapolis that involved a federal agent.

Walz said he spoke with the president about the situation.

"Minnesota has had it. This is sickening," he said. "The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now."

The city of Minneapolis said in an X post Saturday they are looking into reports of a shooting involving federal officers near 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave.

A worker at a nearby business confirmed to ABC News that they witnessed a shooting and said they were "currently dealing with the fallout."

What led up to the shooting was not immediately clear. Officials did not immediately provide information on any injuries.

This comes as several protests have been held in response to immigration enforcement in Minneapolis and the shooting death of Renee Good by an ICE agent.

Further information was not immediately available.
