Four people were killed and eight others were injured in a mass shooting and fire during worship services at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Grand Blanc, Michigan, on Sunday.
"We mourn with our members who have lost loved ones, and we join in prayer for comfort with others around the world who are suffering from similar tragedies," Dallin H. Oaks, president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said in a statement.
"We all seek answers and understanding in the wake of trauma, shock, and grief. We are grateful to all who are reaching out with service, prayers, and words of support during this difficult time," Oaks said.
Here is what we know so far about the victims killed:
John Bond
John Bond -- a beloved husband, father and grandfather -- was among the four people killed in the shooting, his family confirmed to ABC News.
A nine-year veteran of the US Navy, Bond was a "well-known and loved member of his family and active in his community," his family said.
He loved spending time with his family and grandkids, playing golf and researching trains, they said.
