Maurice Sprual case: Man arrested in 2 violent attacks hours apart in Philadelphia

Police have arrested a man in connection with two violent attacks that occurred just minutes apart in Kensington.

Investigators say Maurice Sprual, 29, killed a man in a wheelchair on Sept. 22.

The victim, identified as 52-year-old Richard Hall, suffered a head injury at Amber and Allegheny avenues. He was found face down on the sidewalk next to his wheelchair and was later pronounced dead.

Nearly 15 minutes earlier, police say a 47-year-old woman was assaulted about four blocks away on the 3100 block of Frankford Avenue. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Sprual was arrested on Sept. 24 and is facing charges of murder, aggravated assault and related offenses.
