There was a massive search Saturday morning at the U.S. Coast Guard Housing in Novato with police on the hunt for a suspect in a second possible shooting incident since Thanksgiving night.
"Overnight, we had more reports of shots fired in the same housing area of the Coast Guard housing, so this morning, out of an abundance of caution, we had our tactical team come out and search the area," Novato Police Captain Sasha D'Amico.
"Officers did hear shots fired in the area, but it could be related to duck hunting season, which is open, and there are legal hunting areas nearby."

Police wrapped up the search shortly before noon, saying, just like Thanksgiving night, no one was hurt, and no suspect was found, but they will be upping patrols in the area.
"I did notice all the police cars. I wasn't sure what it was, given it's sort of a private community, I wasn't sure," said Maria Potter, who lives in Marin County and sometimes walks her dog here . . . she says it's typically quite quiet.
"I got a notification from the Novato police, and they were like shelter in place for this area, and then another one earlier this morning that there was a helicopter flying around looking for the person, but it seems safe now," said Andrew Kalich, a Hampton Field resident
"It was very particular timing, it's not something that usually goes on around here, that's why we weren't super concerned about it, but yeah, around the holidays it's a bit stressful," added Raquel Moritz:
Police say they found a number of vacant homes left unsecured and that the Coast Guard will be securing those homes.
