Mass shooting Brooklyn: 3 dead, 8 wounded in Crown Heights shooting at Taste of the City at 903 Franklin Avenue, police say

Three people are dead and eight others are wounded after a shooting at a New York City lounge early Sunday, police officials said.

The shooting happened just before 3:30 a.m. local time inside the Taste of the City lounge in Crown Heights, Brooklyn at 903 Franklin Avenue.

Officers arrived within minutes to the first 911 calls and found numerous gunshot victims.

The victims, eight men and three women, range in age from 27 to 61.

Three of the male victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The remaining victims are at local hospitals being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to NYC Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

Investigators said a dispute inside the crowded club led to the gunfire involving multiple shooters.

Police recovered at least 36 shell casings.

No one is in custody.

Detectives are canvassing CCTV video in and around the location.

They recovered a firearm in the vicinity of Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway, but are still investigating at this time whether this firearm was tied to the shooting incident.

There was another non-fatal shooting at the same lounge in November 2024.
